They Are Coming is a free racing mobile video game wherein you must defeat all enemies to win each level. Developed by Rollic Games, this 3D game has you manipulating a group of shooters through a winding path as they try to gun down all enemies coming after them.

Similar to Fun Race 3D, They Are Coming’s gameplay primarily consists of redirecting your characters toward the best path possible until you reach the finish line and survive with your remaining characters. However, the game is heavily riddled with ads so your concentration will constantly be interrupted.

In They Are Coming, you mainly control a group of faceless characters who will automatically shoot at enemies. All you have to do is follow the safest path for them to take at each level. This isn’t too challenging at first glance since, despite the group moving backward, the path is straight. However, to keep surviving, you have to quickly redirect where they’ll strafe to grab power-ups along the way.

The controls are simple. Just press and hold, then slide your finger across the screen to control where your blue characters are going. Be careful as there are deadly obstacles that can kill some of your characters and reduce their numbers—and if you don’t have enough characters by the end, you’ll fail the level. There are also weapon power-ups and additional characters you can pick up to strengthen your team. 

Gameplay-wise, nothing here is too bad. It can get addictive since the controls are pretty easy. However, the main issue in this game is the sheer number of ads that keep playing. If you’re connected to the internet or Wi-Fi, they’ll keep coming after every level like the red enemies you have to defeat. While watching some of them does give you rewards, it can get pretty annoying, too.

Best played offline

They Are Coming is a game anyone can play and master. The controls aren’t hard to grasp and even the gameplay has some difficulty with it. However, it can get frustrating if you’re playing with an internet connection, as ads will constantly pop up and play after every level is finished. That can be easily solved by just turning off your connection when you start the game, though.
